Vintage 18Kt White Gold Earrings with Baroque Pearls

These vintage 18 kt white gold earrings were made using 8 baroque pearls of three different colors. Unique and special: Baroque pearls are natural or cultured pearls with an irregular shape. The baroque pearl is also defined as a pearl with a patterned shape, due to its particular shape (the classic pearls have a spherical, hemispherical, button, drop or oval shape). Their beauty lies in their uniqueness: each pearl takes on a different shape: in nature and in the world there are no two baroque pearls exactly the same in shape, size and color. The fascination for these pearls first spread to Flemish countries and then spread to the rest of Europe, around the sixteenth century and were used to create artistic and elaborate jewelry. From the 16th to the 17th century, baroque pearls, in addition to being widely used in jewelry, became real collector's items.
