GODDESS ROME Authentic Ancient Roman coin II Cent BC Silver Bracelet
This refined bracelet, entirely handcrafted by our master goldsmiths, features at its center an authentic Roman silver denarius (2nd century BC), carefully set in a bespoke mounting. The obverse of the coin depicts the Goddess Roma, while the reverse shows the Dioscuri—Castor and Pollux—riding on horseback, a powerful symbol of divine protection and military victory for the Roman people.
The bracelet is composed of elegant freshwater cultured pearls, selected for their natural luster and harmony, and enriched with decorative laurel leaf elements, also handcrafted using the ancient lost-wax casting technique. In Roman tradition, the laurel wreath symbolized glory, honor, and triumph.
In ancient Roman religion, the Goddess Roma personified the city of Rome itself and, more broadly, the Roman state and its enduring power. Her figure emerged during the Republican period, initially as a political and symbolic representation, and later evolved into a fully venerated deity, especially throughout the provinces of the Empire.
Iconographically, Roma is portrayed as a solemn and majestic female figure, often depicted seated or in a commanding stance, wearing a military helmet and accompanied by attributes such as a shield and spear—emblems of strength, authority, and invincibility. Her image appears frequently in Roman coinage, sculpture, and public monuments, becoming one of the most recognizable symbols of Roman identity.
A notable representation of Roma can also be found at the base of the Column of Antoninus Pius, where her presence contributes to celebrating the grandeur and continuity of the Empire.
