This 925 silver ring proudly holds an authentic Roman coin dating back to the 2nd century AD, featuring Fortuna, the Roman goddess of fortune, known as "Happy." The coin's reverse displays the bust of Julia Domna. Fortuna, akin to the Greek goddess Tyche, symbolizes luck and fortune in Roman belief, enduring through the Middle Ages and into the Renaissance due in part to the writings of Boethius.

Depicted with symbols like a ship's rudder, the wheel of fortune (Rota Fortunae), and a horn of plenty (cornucopia), Fortuna personifies life's unpredictable nature, capable of bestowing both good and ill luck. Sometimes veiled and blind, reminiscent of Lady Justice but without the scales, Fortuna embodies fate's capriciousness. Known as Atrox Fortuna, she claimed the lives of Augustus' grandsons, Gaius and Lucius, potential heirs to the Empire, underlining her association with destiny.

Fortuna's presence extends into various aspects of daily life. A Pompeii amulet from the House of Menander connects her with the Egyptian goddess Isis, as Isis-Fortuna. She shares functional ties with Bonus Eventus, often seen as her counterpart, appearing together on amulets, coins, and engraved gems throughout the Roman world.
