This 18kt gold ring, handcrafted by our goldsmiths, depicts Hermanubis, the Greco-Egyptian god born from the fusion of Hermes and Anubis.
Hermanubis (or Ermanubi; in Greek: Ἑρμανοῦβις, Hermanùbis) was considered the son of Seth and Nephthys. Gems engraved with this god's image, which are extremely rare, were regarded as magical and served as protective amulets.

The striking similarities between Anubis and Hermes—both being psychopomp deities, or guides of souls in the afterlife—led to the syncretic creation of Hermanubis within the religious imagination of the Ptolemaic period. This fusion of Egyptian and Hellenistic religious traditions became especially popular during the Roman domination of Egypt, when the first depictions of Hermanubis appeared, and remained significant in Rome itself until the 2nd century AD.

In his rare representations, Hermanubis is depicted with the body of a man and the head of a jackal, holding the sacred caduceus and a palm frond. A notable statue of the god, carved from white marble and dating to the 1st-2nd century AD, can be found in the Egyptian Gregorian Museum at the Vatican Museums.
