Genuine Ancient Roman Coin 72 BC Silver Pendant depicting the winged head of Medusa

This sterling silver pendant showcases an authentic denarius from 72 BC, portraying Medusa, her visage adorned with wings and serpents entwined in her hair. The reverse side of the coin showcases Bellerophon atop the famed winged horse, Pegasus. This denarius was crafted under the authority of L. Cossutius Sabula, a Roman monetary magistrate.

The Gorgons, consisting of three sisters—Medusa being the most renowned—were figures deeply rooted in ancient Greek mythology.
