Genuine Ancient Roman coin 2nd cent. AD 18Kt gold pendant depicting Emperor Trajan
The pendant features an authentic silver denarius from the 1st century, depicting Emperor Trajan. On the reverse side of the coin, we find the figure of Mars, the Roman god of war, holding a spear and a trophy.
Trajan, born on September 18, 53, reigned as Roman Emperor from 98 to 117. Earning the title of "optimus princeps" or "best ruler" from the Senate, Trajan is renowned as a successful soldier-emperor who oversaw unparalleled military expansion, leading the Roman Empire to its greatest territorial extent at the time of his passing. His reign is also characterized by his benevolent rule, marked by extensive public building projects and the implementation of social welfare policies. These accomplishments have solidified his position as one of the Five Good Emperors, a group known for their contribution to a period of peace and prosperity in the Mediterranean world.
