• Handmade 100% Made in Italy • Genuine Roman Silver Coin 1st cent. BC • Bezel material: Sterling Silver 925

This 925 silver pendant contains an authentic Roman denarius coin, minted by Publio Accoleio Lariscolo (69-43 BC). The coin features the likeness of Diana Nemorense, also known as "Diana of Nemi," an ancient Italian goddess who underwent Hellenistic influences during the fourth century BC and was later associated with Artemis. On the reverse side of the coin, there is a depiction of a triple statue of Diana, positioned alongside cypress trees.

Diana Nemorense's sacred sanctuary was located on the northern shore of Lake Nemi, beneath the cliffs near the modern town of Nemi (formerly known as nemus Aricinum). Poets often referred to this lake as "Diana's Mirror," while the nearby town of Aricia, situated about three miles away at the base of the Albanus Mons, the Alban Mount, was separated from the lake by a steep descent. The lake itself is nestled within a small, crater-like hollow on the mountainside.
