Emperor Constantine I, a prominent figure in the early 4th century Roman Empire, holds the distinction of being the first Christian emperor. His reign marked a significant turning point as the empire embraced Christianity under his leadership.

Constantine I's journey began around 280 in Naissus, Moesia, which is modern-day Serbia. Following his father's ascent to the role of Western Roman emperor in 305, Constantine embarked on a determined path to secure his own power. Ultimately, he achieved the title of Western emperor in 312, later becoming the sole ruler of the Roman Empire in 324.

Perhaps most notably, Constantine I stands as a trailblazer for his adoption of Christianity. Notably, he issued an edict that safeguarded Christians within the empire and personally embraced Christianity on his deathbed in 337.
