This exquisite 18 Kt Gold pendant showcases an authentic Roman coin minted by Albinus Bruti in 48 BC. The coin portrays a meaningful depiction known as Dextrarum iunctio, which features clasped hands holding a winged caduceus. On the reverse side of the coin, we can observe the figure of Pietas.

The Dextrarum iunctio, symbolized by the clasped hands, holds significant cultural and symbolic value. This gesture, known as Dexiosis in Greek or Dextrarum Iunctio in Roman, can be traced back to ancient Greek art. In Roman culture, the handclasp represented harmony, affinity, friendship, and loyalty. As the right hand was dedicated to the deity of fidelity, scenes involving political agreements often depicted a handclasp, symbolizing political concord and unity.

Pietas, depicted on the reverse side of the coin, personified the Roman sentiment of pietas. As a divinity, Pietas was responsible for fulfilling one's duty towards the State, the deities, and the family. This concept held immense importance in Roman religion and society.

During the Antonine period, the Dextrarum iunctio became a symbol of the harmonious bond shared by the imperial couple. It represented the unity, balance, and cooperation between the emperor and empress.
