Reproduction in sterling silver and travertine of the ancient well of the Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli (symbol of the faculty of engineering)
The characteristic well (symbol of the Faculty of Engineering), and in the center of the courtyard of the Basilica, framed in an aedicule set on coupled Ionic columns that support the entablature and the tympanum. Here we find the Roverian references: the name of Cardinal Sisto, under whom it was initiated, and the coat of arms are placed on the tympanum, while the inscription on the entablature recalls the Cardinal Leonardo with whom it was completed, probably in 1517. The project is attributed to Antonio da Sangallo, who created it with the collaboration of Simone Mosca.
